Session Topic

 

Elevate your employee relations skills and learn how to become more strategic through our new member-exclusive event, HR Book Club.  HR is not just about HR: it is about the value that you bring to the organization and stakeholders.  Facilitated by Angela Champ, this one-hour workshop will show you how to approach employee relations cases and how to identify opportunities to bring value to others in your organization.

There are three member-exclusive workshops in 2024; join us for 1 workshop or for all three.  Each workshop will examine different case studies from the book, “It Depends: Employee Relations Case Studies for Human Resources Professionals and Students.” so you’ll need a copy to participate, you can borrow one from the library or you can buy a copy here.

This year’s cases:

  • June 20th – “The Patron”
  • September 12th – “The Termination”
  • December 5th – “The Trainee”

 

 

About the Facilitator

 

Passionate about lifelong learning and inspiring others to achieve their best potential, Angela Champ is a human resources executive and author who writes, blogs and speaks on a variety of leadership, professional development and personal growth topics.

Named as one of Canada’s top 20 HR leaders on the HRD Global 100 and on The Most Inclusive HR Influencer list, Angela is the author of “It Depends” and “The Squiggly Line Career,” which shows how to advance your career in unexpected ways.

Angela has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Royal Roads University.  Angela was formerly the President of Lean In, Vancouver, a network aimed at helping professional women advance in their careers, and she teaches for the University of Calgary’s continuing education HR Certificate program.  Angela currently lives in BC with her family.
