Two Institutions, One Destination: New UPEI–Holland College Agreement Accelerates HR Careers

A new agreement between the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) and Holland College is opening doors for future HR professionals. The UPEI McDougall Faculty of Business will now accept the successfully completed Human Resource Management (HRM) Certificate from Holland College as transfer credit to up to 12 semester hours towards the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree.

This innovative pathway allows students to pursue both credentials concurrently, streamlining their academic journey and accelerating their path to the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation. The HRM Certificate is accredited by CPHR PEI, meaning graduates are one step closer to earning their professional designation.

Students enrolled in UPEI’s BBA program can apply to Holland College’s HRM Certificate program as early as their second year. Once admitted, they’ll complete the certificate requirements during their third year, earning up to four business elective credits toward their BBA. Also, Holland College HRM graduates can transfer into UPEI’s BBA program and receive credit for their certificate, provided they meet academic standards.
