RESPONSIBILITIES (could include, but are not limited to):
Recruitment – Assist with recruitment efforts, stay current on immigration programs and policies and maintain strong relationships with local supports, and support potential and current employees in immigration related items.
Training & Development- Provide support to new employees, work with managers to create training packages for new employees, support teams to ensure that new employees are receiving the support that they need to ramp up successful, coordinate training checkpoints with each team, proactively assist with execution of training priorities, assist with career planning objectives, and provide necessary supports to staff to ensure that career planning goals are being met.
Predictive Index – Lead and promote the usage of Predictive Index, a behavioral assessment tool. Complete and maintain job assessments for each position.
Performance Management- Assist with preparation and execution of annual review process, support managers in execution and follow up on annual performance reviews, document and send out employee goals to mgrs./supervisors following reviews, follow up during year to ensure that review goals are being revisited with the employee and support staff to ensure that employees are receiving the supports needed to reach their goals.
Other – Prepare grant/funding and award applications and complete other duties as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
·University degree in a related discipline, or a suitable combination of education and experience;
·4+ years of experience in human resources;
·A certificate in Human Resources Management and/or a CPHR designation would be considered an asset;
·Extensive experience with core software applications, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel is required;
·Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and charismatic personality;
·Strong team-building skills with ability and desire to build strong relationships with others;
·Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks with a strong sense of urgency;
·High degree of sensitivity to deal with sensitive and confidential matters; and
·Strong work ethic, attention to detail and ability to “think outside the box.”
