How prepared is your organization to thrive in the new reality of diversity?
Date: December 6, 2018
Time: Registration 8:30am
Session: 9am – 10am

The Island’s population and workforce are increasingly diverse. Naturally, many organizations are struggling with how to adapt to and leverage diversity.  This presentation will center the Human Rights Act – PEI’s prevailing law which applies to all employers and organizations falling under provincial jurisdiction – as an excellent starting point for asking “how prepared is my organization to thrive in this new reality of diversity”?. This interactive presentation will review:

1)         The Act and mandate of the Human Rights Commission;

2)         The importance of workplace policies to the building and maintaining inclusive and
respectful workplace cultures; and

3)         The business case for practicing and promoting diversity and inclusion.

The goal is for participants to leave the presentation confident that the Human Rights Commission exists to help you help your organization become a place where differences are celebrated, mutual dignity and respect are practiced and high-achievement and success are the norm.

Instructor: Tom Hilton, Education Officer, PEI Human Rights Commission
